Aviation · Joinery, furniture and components

Light, exact and made to fly.

Cabin furniture, galley joinery, refinishing and lightweight components for aircraft owners, operators, completion centres and interior designers. Made by Australian craftspeople in our Hemmant workshop, to the approved drawings, weights and installation requirements for your aircraft.

What we make for aircraft

Where every kilogram
and every fixing counts.

An aircraft interior asks the same questions as a performance yacht: how light, how strong, how it is reached, fixed and cared for. We have been answering them in timber, veneer and composite since 2001. For aircraft, we bring that discipline to the drawings, materials and weights your aircraft's design team has approved.

Cabin

Cabin furniture and cabinetry.

Tables, storage, panels, doors and integrated cabinetry, made to the approved drawings, weights and installation requirements for the aircraft. The lightweight methods we use on performance yachts keep mass low without losing the feel of fine joinery under the hand.

Galley

Galley joinery.

A galley has to give crew everything they need in very little space, then close quietly and stay closed in flight. We resolve the cabinetry with the approved designer and completion team, then design the details, build, assemble and install it with our own people.

Nearly 600 labour hours

Our most recent aviation galley, for a private jet, was designed, built, assembled and installed entirely by Marxcraft, with the cabinetry made in our Hemmant workshop.

Care

Refinishing within approved scope.

When an interior is sound but tired, careful repair can bring it back without replacing it. We offer veneer repair, colour matching and refinishing, carried out within the scope agreed with the engineers and authorities responsible for the aircraft.

Materials

Lightweight veneer and
composite components.

Light substrates, veneers and composite parts, made where every kilogram and every fixing counts. For Emerald Air Surveys, whose aerial survey aircraft support marine conservation and survey work, we built the entire housing unit and case that carries and protects their high-tech camera in flight.

How we work with aviation teams

Clear responsibilities
from the first drawing.

Aircraft work begins with the approved design. Our job is to make it well, make it light and fit it without surprises.

01

Understand

We review the approved drawings, materials, weight targets and installation requirements. We confirm who holds design, engineering and certification responsibility.

02

Resolve

Details, fixings and finishes are tested with samples, patterns or full-size mock-ups before material is committed.

03

Make

Components are made in our Hemmant workshop under controlled conditions, with regular photo and progress reports.

04

Install and hand over

Our own team installs and adjusts the work, then hands over the records the responsible engineers need.

We do not hold aviation design or certification approvals. We work under the approved design of the aircraft's designer, engineers or completion centre. We coordinate with them at every stage.

Why yacht craft translates

Built with the
weight discipline of
performance yachts.

Twenty-five years of lightweight yacht interiors taught us to count grams, plan every fixing and leave access where the next person will need it.

Measured first

3D laser scanning and Rhino modelling capture the space, so parts are resolved before timber is cut.

Made light

Lightweight panels, veneers, carbon fibre and fibreglass, chosen to meet the approved weight.

Finished in house

Two CNC routers, joinery machinery and our own spray booths, alongside long-serving craftspeople.

Recorded

In-process inspection, material records and photo reports, ready for the responsible engineers.

Also for aircraft

Shared skills, same standard.

3D laser scanning and Rhino modelling

Existing spaces captured and modelled, so parts are resolved before timber is cut.

Mock-ups and prototypes

Full-size or partial mock-ups to test proportion, access and finish before manufacture.

Stainless steel and carbon fibre components

Fabricated and composite components made alongside the joinery they connect to.

Spray finishing

Controlled finishing in our in-house spray booths, from satin timber to high gloss.

Mobile installation teams

Our own people install, adjust and hand over, across Australia and internationally.

Every service we offer

Marine, commercial, residential and specialist vehicle work, from the same two workshops.
